The Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon (IIAP) is a scientific and technological research organization dedicated to the study of natural resources and the environment in the Amazon region. Our primary mission is to generate and provide scientific and technological knowledge to promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the Peruvian Amazon, ensuring the well-being of its communities.

#CONIAP - 2026
The International Congress on the Peruvian Amazon, research for development, perspectives and challenges, to be held annually, constitutes an open dialogue space for national and foreign researchers from different disciplines, development managers, Peruvian public sectors, and non-governmental organizations with the purpose of promoting the dissemination and exchange of knowledge and experiences.\n\nFavoring communication between researchers and policy decision-makers to define guidelines and seek consensus on issues of culture, social and human development, sustainable use and conservation of ecosystems and resources, alternative technologies and economic development, territorial ordering, and risk management that contribute to the socio-economic development of the Peruvian Amazon region in the context of climate change.
